How long and how frequent are therapy visits?

Following an evaluation, a speech-language pathologist will discuss recommendations with you regarding the recommended frequency and length of therapy sessions. Therapy is always tailored to the unique needs of the individual and family. We typically recommend 30-minute or 45-minute sessions. Depending on the type and severity of deficits, therapy is generally recommended at 1x, 2x, or 3x per week.

Where is therapy provided?

We provide speech therapy via telehealth / virtual services for any individual in the states of Montana, Nevada, & New Mexico or in person at nearby homes, daycares, preschools, and/or private schools. Home, daycare, preschool, and private school visits are limited and based on therapist availability and location. Give us a call today to see if we have availability to see your child at their home or school.

Are parents or caregivers allowed in your sessions?

Yes! We believe that having you as part of our therapy sessions helps your child to achieve the best results. We value families being involved in this process. We want families to know and observe what we’re working on in speech therapy so that they can carryover skills at home. You are not required to participate in all sessions but are welcomed to join if you’d like.

We have a referral, but it is for another Speech-Language Pathologist. Can we still come see you?

If you would like to change the provider listed on your TRICARE authorization or referral you can contact TRICARE West to do so. Most families prefer to call TRICARE directly to request this change. Please see the FAQs on tricare-west.com for more options and information.

What is the cancellation policy?

24 hour advanced notice is required to cancel or reschedule scheduled therapy appointments.

If my child has an IEP in the school, can he/she receive speech therapy with you?

Yes! There are many families who choose to receive private speech therapy in addition to school-based therapy. One of the benefits is that we can provide you with 1 on 1, quality, family-centered therapy. We love working closely with our families and developing relationships. Some families also choose to do private speech therapy during the summer months in order to maintain their skills while school is out. If your child has an updated IEP, give us a call. If a comprehensive evaluation was completed recently, we may be able to rely on your child’s school evaluation and IEP.

What if my child didn’t qualify for Early Intervention or school-based speech therapy services? Can you still work with them?

Early Intervention and schools each have their own specific eligibility criteria to meet in order to qualify for services. When children do not qualify for speech therapy services at school, it means that they did not meet their specific eligibility criteria for the public school system. School-based speech therapy services are available for the purpose of helping the student access the educational curriculum, and students must demonstrate an educational need for services. For private speech therapy, an evaluation can be initiated when there is a concern about any aspect of your child’s speech and language development.
